Following Abyss’ success with their original AB-1266 headphones in 2013, the company blew the doors open again with their new Diana headphones. The Diana headphones are their first “lifestyle” headphones offering ground-breaking features that have continued to turn the heads of even the most extreme audiophiles.
Made and assembled in Lancaster, New York, the Abyss Diana is the world’s thinnest planar headphone. It uses patented drivers to deliver a lightweight transducer that provides superb sound quality. Compared to Abyss’s AB-1266 headphones, the Diana headphones are much smaller, lighter, easier to drive, and more practical.

Made entirely from real sheepskin and our renowned slow-rebounding memory foam, our Elite Fenestrated Sheepskin earpads bring an exciting new listening experience for the Abyss Diana headphones.
While the stock pads come constructed in a more sloped shape that concaves towards the driver, we designed our earpads to be flat around the surface. The flattened surface increases the surface area of the earpad, allowing the earpad to seamlessly distribute more clamp pressure around the ear. This tighter seal will make it easier for sound to travel directly toward your ears, creating a clearer and more isolated listening experience.
Our Elite Fenestrated Sheepskin earpads come with tiny perforations around the interior and exterior of the earpad. The Diana stock pads come with the perforations as well, though only around the exterior surface of the earpad. With the added interior perforations in our Elite Fenestrated Sheepskin earpads, we noticed increased clarity in the mid to high ranges. There seems to be a bit more “openness” and a slightly larger acoustic space with our Elite Fenestrated Sheepskin earpads compared to the stock.
During our in-house testing processes, we concluded that the fenestrated earpads were by far the best fit in terms of comfort and sound quality. We found that our other Elite materials may have improved the comfort, but they didn’t create the sound adjustments we wanted to share with the world. The Elite Fenestrated Sheepskin earpads maintained a similar sound signature to the stock Diana earpads while improving many little details that matter the most.
