We had the amazing opportunity to work closely with Meze Audio to create the best replacement earpad for the Meze 99 Classics. With a combination of our and Meze Audio’s product first mindset, we were able to develop the perfect replacement earpad with our Elite Sheepskin material. Hand tested by both us and Meze Audio’s engineering departments, we’ve achieved sonic excellence with Dekoni comfort.

As we mentioned, we wanted to stay as close to Meze’s original sound signature of the headphones as possible. And as you can see in the above graph, our Elite Sheepskin replacement earpads are pretty close with a few differences. In the low frequencies, you can expect a boost of roughly 4 dB, with a 2 dB increase in the higher lows leading into the mid range. At around 150 Hz to 1000 Hz, you can see a significant dip. The warm and melodic instruments will take a hit, but those instruments can typically be a little overbearing. This can allow more airspace for the higher frequencies to open up a bit, though this will depend on your personal preference. Past 1 kHz, you won’t see much of any dips. Our Elite Sheepskin earpads are able to maintain the performance of the original earpads in this frequency range. With the dip in the midrange, the highs and higher mids will likely pop and become more enjoyable to the listener.
