Hey, it is Dan aka SamuraiDan on twitch, Here to talk about a new headphone that I have been playing video games with over the last couple of weeks. I do love a good pair of wireless headphones, and playing video games with the Sony WH1000XM4 has been a pretty good experience. These headphones connect over bluetooth which can be worrying with things like desynced or distorted audio, but with Bluetooth 5.0 this wasn't an issue. I used the headphones to play Apex Legends and some adventure games like Psychonauts and Deep Rock Galactic. Everything was coming in crystal clear, with almost no latency audio from games. In Apex, pinpointing where enemies or gunshots were coming from was a breeze.

There were some early problems with lows being too strong and not being able to hear the highs but that was fixed when I got a recommended EQ setting from a friend. To put the EQ settings in you have to connect to a phone first and change it in the App to save it to the headphones, then connect to any other device and enjoy.
Once I got used to the headphone, it felt like I was not even on my head anymore. I got really comfortable with this headphone, and the pads make all of my computer work very enjoyable. My favorite part was being able to walk to my fridge, and still be able to hear my discord conversation.
Throughout my couple weeks of playing with the headphones, I was using 3 different ear pads from Dekoni Audio: Platinum, the Choice Leather Deep, and the Choice Suede Deep. My favorite of the 3 ear pads is the Choice Leather Deep , it sounded really good and it was very comfortable.

I used the Platinum series first and spent the most time with it, but would still choose Choice Leather Deep, even before I got the suggested EQ settings. The Platinum sounded great out of the box and didn't need the EQ. They do not have depths from the Deep, but the foam was dense enough to keep my ear comfortably away from the drivers. For the Suede I had to change the EQ, because the settings I used for the Leather resulted in huge amounts of bass.
I tried to play a couple games of Apex with them before the EQ change, I was only getting the low end. Anything on the high end was barely audible or not coming in at all, but once the EQ setting was in place it was beautiful. Also they weren't getting hot on my head, the deep suede kept me cool. All 3 pads worked well with ANC to block out sound in my room, from my A/C to my fan I keep right by the side on my desk.
It was a fun time with the Xm4, I would like to try them again in the future with VR. I feel like it would be hot with the combined heat from the VR headset and the ear pads, but maybe the Suede will help keep things under control. That is an article for another day, but the XM4's for gaming are really good. They are comfortable, they sound great, and they're wireless; overall it was a great experience and the ear pads were really comfortable and sounded great.
Platinum series pads are
