I noticed immediately a wider sound stage with the Dekoni pads. The bass has more punch but with clarity. Voices have more clarity and presence. Finally they are more comfortable than the factory pads.

I was never a fan of the Elegia's stock pads. To my ears there was a mid-bass bump that kept drawing my attention away from the music, and for a time I regretted my purchase.

I "solved" the issue by purchasing the Dekoni fenestrated pads which removed the bump, but also took out more bottom end overall. I fixed that with EQ (analog only, digital EQ is horrible in most implementations) and was happy until the pads started to show wear because of the holes. Yes, I was limited to one setup to get the most out of them, but it's where I spent most of my time anyways.

I was going to replace with the same until I found the customs, and I'll say I'm glad I did. I now have a rich sound without EQ that still keeps the top-end that I like with Focals. It's more balanced than v-shaped, which I am grateful for. Vocals still remain natural and untouched.

My only negative is the cost to bring them into Canada. With shipping and import feeds (not Dekoni's fault) it got steep. Any remorse in this area will fade if these hold up well to daily use. The leather gives me confidence so it'll be the foam's role to impress me.

If you have Elegias, I couldn't recommend these pads more.
